AI instructions are how you personalize the AI clerk: give it your house’s tone and the guidance specific to your restaurant. The AI clerk already comes with base instructions: it knows how to take orders, knows your menu, handles delivery and pickup, and answers common questions. There is nothing to teach it there. AI instructions are for adding what is specific to you.
You are not alone. As with campaigns, the Chataigne team supports you on AI instructions: tell us what you want to achieve, and we help you phrase it effectively.

It is very open

You write in natural language, as if training a new employee. A few examples of what it can contain:
  • The tone to adopt: “be casual and warm with customers”, or on the contrary “stay formal at all times”.
  • Guidance on certain products: “recommend the burrata as a starter for two”, “always mention that the tiramisu is homemade”, “never offer modifications on the tasting menu”.
  • Location and accessibility: “the entrance is at the back of the courtyard, ring the gate”, “no parking, suggest the Vinci car park 200 m away”, “the restaurant is on the 1st floor with no lift”.
  • Support redirections: “for privatization or event requests, give the address [email protected]”, “for partnership requests, point to [email protected]”.

Good habits

  • Short and concrete. “Recommend the crispy chicken to the undecided” works better than a paragraph about your culinary philosophy.
  • One instruction at a time. Several short instructions beat one dense block.
  • Test. After adding an instruction, write to your own number and check the AI clerk’s behavior.
If you catch yourself taking over conversations always for the same reason, an instruction is missing: add it and the AI clerk will handle it alone next time.
